Governance
The Library Board of Trustees is the governing organization of Lewis County Public Library and Archives. The Board represents the citizens of Lewis County—the citizens own the library. The Board sets policies for the operation of the library and archives and ensures that we are responsive to the public’s needs. The Library Board is also legally responsible for ensuring the library receives adequate funding from local government.
The Library Board is composed of seven county residents appointed by the Lewis County Commission under the authority of Tennessee Code Annotated 10-3-101 and 10-3-103. Library Trustees serve as volunteers and receive no pay for their service.
Board meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month in February, April, June, August, October, and December at 4:30 p.m. in the library and archives. Meetings are open to the public.
